Welcome to the website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated’s Lambda Beta Chapter serving the community of Towson University in Towson, Maryland. I am honored to serve as the president of the "Lovely" Lambda Beta Chapter, an award-winning chapter, for the 2021- 2022 academic year. 

 

The Lovely Lambda Beta Chapter has been reigning supreme on Towson's campus for the past 44 years. We have been awarded the Outstanding Diversity and Inclusion Program award in the Spring of 2020, the President’s Cup at the Greek Awards at Towson University for Fall 2018, and have maintained our Gold status in our chapter assessment program (CAP) for 2 years! After the reactivation of the chapter in 2010, Lambda Beta has been most recognized for our annual Charity Ball, which raises money for charitable causes in alignment with our Targets. Our chapter also hosts the Mr. 1908 Scholarship Pageant that rewards young men who attend Towson University with a monetary academic scholarship. Our most popular events are held during our spring and fall semester Skee Weeks. This is where we present programs that model our sorority's international program "Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service." 

 

Our chapter takes pride in our hard work but leaves a little room for fun too. Lambda Beta has been Baltimore Greek Picnic's Sorority Stroll Champions since 2013 and is Towson University's National Pan-Hellenic Council Step Competition reigning champions. Our chapter is represented by a diverse group of young women who possess many talents. We are a chapter that not only wishes for our successes but WORKS for it.
